As I type this journal, I have the dried (acrylic) blood of the hemospectrum all over my hands. Progress on the ~ATH book is good.
Some of you requested a tutorial, I have no pictures but I can go over the process in this journal.
MATERIALS:
* Book
* Mod Podge
* Tons -o- acrylic paint
* Time.
1. Acquire programming book.
I used this one here; www.sebodomessias.com.br/loja/…
It was $10 at a local used book store and it was already mostly black.
2. Paint it black.
Not the most exciting step of the process, but necessary. I used 3 or 4 coats of black acrylic paint to get an even coat.
3. I blew up a picture of the book in MSPaint (how appropriate) and cropped it down to the face. I experimented with sizes and found one that
worked. Then because I'm a masochist, I cut out a free-hand drawn face for the spine. I also printed "ATH" in MS Word and highlighted it in
black. Then I remembered I was supposed to mention the "~", which I cut out of paper and applied with Mod Podge.
4. Glue everything on with Mod Podge. Make sure you let it dry with a lot of pressure to avoid bubbles. BE CAREFUL TO NOT GLUE THE BOOK
TO YOUR DESK. I did that once, it set me back to stage 2.
5. Once everything is attached to the outside, coat it in a layer of mod podge. This will make it shiny and safe.
6. Inside there was a name in the top left corner. I scribbled it out and wrote KARKAT VANTAS. Then I used a box cutter to cut out the first
page.
7. Print out a new title page title thingy. I recommend Courier font, size 16. Be careful when mod-podging it in, or you WILL GLUE THE PAGES
TOGETHER. Seriously, that is a massive risk. You could ruin the entire book right there if not careful. DANGER.
8. Congrats, you now have a clean ~ATH book, assuming I didn't forget anything. If I did, or wasn't particularly clear, feel free to
message/comment. ALSO. If you actually use this and make one, it would be AWESOME if you link my page when you post pictures or
anything.

Projects
Hey, got a bunch of new updates. So I have slightly almost kind of abandoned the projects I was working on, but I do have some new ones.
For my Homestuck fandom followers;
* I am working on Dualscar armor. Should be done in a month or two.
*Mindfang's journal is still WIP
*Also working on Grandpa Harley and The High Chaplain of Interstellar War
For Horror fans;
* I am considering experimenting with some zombie stuff for special effect purposes
* Might do some "magical creature" nonsense, think mummified goblins and such
For Game folks;
*Some of those Skyrim tomes are looking pretty tasty
Back from absurd hiatus
So I haven't done any real art nonsense in a spectacularly long time, other than things for people and some 2D experiments. I am finally back to work on a book. I hope to have Colonel Sassacre's Daunting Text of Magical Frivolity and Practical Japery done in a week. That is a STRONG possibility, but we shall see what unknown great and terrible distractions this week will hold...
Ahab's Crosshairs Crude Tutorial
I'm writing this from memory, so I apologize if it's not very good. Also, I made the gun in probably one of the most inconvenient ways you could do it, so it may be better to disregard this entirely.
First off, materials.
* One board, about 2 1/2 inches thick, around 10ish (estimate) inches tall by however long you want the gun
* One thick dowel, about 6 inches longer than you want the harpoon to be
* One functional pellet-gun scope
* A few short, thin dowels
* Two large bolts
* A ton of wood glue
* ALL the acrylic paint
* Finish spray
INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Sketch out the shape of the rifle onto the wood. I did this by scaling it up fro
Newsletter of sorts
Updates for everyone!
OK, I am currently experimenting with putting the honks in ~ATH, but I'm not sure I like the effect. I'll mess around with it for a while, but it might end up being done as is.
After that, I've got a mess of other things all going at the same time. I will try to update fairly regularly, but it might be a while.
Current projects:
* Mindfang Journal
* Colonel Sassacre's Daunting Text of Magical Frivolity and Practical Japery
* Grimoire for Summoning the Zoologically Dubious
* Terezi Coin
* Con-Air Bunny (possibly)
* Fluorite Octet
* Lord English's Cairo Overcoat (possibly)
* Codename: Night Terrors
These won't
